Back to School Make It And Take It - Click for information and to register!

The summer READ 100 partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of the Mountain Empire has started! Boys and girls will earn incentives, including free field trips, for reading throughout the month of July. The goal - read 100 books during July! All SWVRC members and BVPS employees are encouraged to volunteer time to read with a child.

SWVRC partnered with the United Way to give away FREE children's books at Bristol's Border Bash. SWVRC was able to set up on two different occasions to distribute these awesome books!

FREE BOOK GIVEAWAYS! The Southwest Virginia Reading Council has partnered with United Way of Southwest Virginia in their Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. United Way has donated 600 free children's books to our council. We will distribute these books at Bristol's Border Bash in downtown Bristol on Friday, June 15th and Friday, July 20th. Both Border Bash events run from 6:30-10:30 PM. Come make a craft or play a game, listen to a story, and take home a free book!
